NATACHA MARTINS

The work Crucificação e Deposição de Cristo (“Crucifixion and Deposition of Christ”) enacts an inhospitable context of intimacy between the image, the viewer and the author. Constructs an essay on the dissolvable vulnerability and awareness of the Human Condition in contemporary times, reflecting on the collective visual structures (the concept of the archaic visual heritage of humanity) under the Contemporary Technological Context.

The artist deprives herself of 72 hours of sleeping (3 days), in order to finally rest in the exhibition space, building a model of transcendence through the voyeur dissonance of the work and its experience.

The intimate and vulnerable visual approaches in the installation referring to the artist’s body and personal life as a vulnerable object, charge the viewer with the power of divinity, building a template transcendent and silent existence between the work and himself.
